Hi
Unfrotuantely the software installer doesnt seem to be working
I select the software, then it start to download, but nothing happens
No progess
any ideas

Using Linux Lite 5.0
This happens if you have third-party PPAs added. Some of them still lack the Ubuntu 20.04 version and if this error is encountered, the "download updates" fails. I hope some day someone who is better qualified than me, would put a fallback line of code, to prevent this stupidity. It has something to do with the wget App.
Workaround:
Disable all PPAs from Synaptic, install whatever updates are listed, then get back and re-enable ONE-BY-ONE each PPA, until you finish the update, where appropriate. If on a specific PPA you get the same failure message, disable it again and go on to the next, until all is updated.
