Two critical elements - I thought we would be a lot closer by now, so I'll have to give out one small clue and then wait for the competition to end.
Clue - all l can say as that a lot of people have already guessed one of the critical elements :) If no one gets both, then I'll just make up the draw of all that correctly guessed the one element.

I would just observe, as someone who has stuck with Windows 7 on several machines rather than upgrade to 10, that one of the bigger jarring experiences I find (in all Linux desktop distros I've tried, not just LL) is the inconsistency in scrollbar behaviour between applications.  I quite appreciate that Windows 8 onwards started to adopt some of the scrollbar "fancy" behaviours apparent in most Linux desktops, but most applications I've used on Windows 7 still use the more "classic" approach of buttons at the end for fine control and "chunk" movement with clicking in the vacant control space (rather than clicking to move to the point proportionate to the click location in the range).  I wouldn't mind so much if all the major applications behaved the same (though I find the behaviour of many instances very annoying as fine control is effectively impossible with large data ranges) but they don't; nor do many of the worst offending applications track the behaviour illustrated in the appearance settings either :(.

That UI gripe notwithstanding, I still stick with LL for my Linux desktops as I've not yet found any distro that better suits me - so many thanks for what you have achieved!

Very true! Could a topic be started on that and on what Artim is stating upthread? Some examples of a quick way to change the fonts/size with the actual clicks would be welcome.

Thank you all for the Upgrade info. To be honest that stuff gets easier and easier as we approach a stage where we are almost feature complete. Then it becomes just adding stuff for the sake of News.

I'll open up a 5.x suggestions thread as I always do in the coming weeks/months. But for now, let's enjoy discussing this release :) FYI we have a record number of visitors to the Forums the last 2 days, looks like Windows folk heard our message :) Remember, we are not trying to replicate Windows, simply make the transition as painless as possible. To strike a balance between look, function and expectation.

Obviously, I can't say if you are right or not.
There will be at least I'm sure, a dozen or less what people will claim as 'critical elements' but I could only choose 2. So even though people may feel they are right, they still have to match the 2 that I have chosen.
